The splitter sends an Ethernet connection (2 pairs) up two of the pairs in the long cable, and sends the other Ethernet connection up the remaining two pairs in the cable.
These splitters will not work for 1 Gbps (or faster) Ethernet as at these speeds all 4 pairs are used.
Also they won’t work for POE systems..
